On April 2, 1926: The Manitoba Free Press reported that legislation would likely be introduced in the Manitoba Legislature in the coming week to allow for the speedy construction of a rail line to Flin Flon. Twenty-six people were injured at the Starland Theatre when part of the ceiling under the balcony collapsed. The oil boom in Calgary, Alta., was said to dwarf the one seen in the area at the outbreak of the First World War. The U.S. Midwest was battered by a new blizzard.
