Manitoba’s top RCMP officer says a Mountie who died in a crash on Winnipeg’s Perimeter Highway was “the proud father of three teenaged girls” who was just days shy of 13 years of service with the force. Mourning Mountie: Thousands of people are expected to attend a funeral service for RCMP Const. Allan Poapst, who was killed in a crash on the Perimeter Highway last week. The funeral at Bell MTS Place begins at 11 a.m. Doors open at 10 a.m., and people are expected to be seated by 10:45 a.m.

Son of spies to speak: Alexander Vavilov, one of two sons born in Canada to Russian spies, will speak to journalists in Toronto one day after the Supreme Court affirmed the brothers’ citizenship. READ MORE
