On Aug. 10, 1967: The Winnipeg Free Press reported that the executive director of the Winnipeg General Hospital predicted that Manitoba could expect a 30 to 32 per cent increase in the $57-million annual cost of its hospital services within the next two years, due to increased demand for better services and personal attention.
