COVID-19 crisis: The provincial government will announce the latest COVID-19 numbers this afternoon. As of Thursday, Winnipeg’s positivity rate was a record 14.9 per cent. On Dec. 4, 1965: The Winnipeg Free Press reported that in Cape Canaveral, Fla., two astronauts were set to launch on the Gemini 7 space mission as part of the longest manned space mission to date, at 14 days, during which they hoped to rendezvous with the Gemini 6 pilots. Russia launched its fourth attempt of the year to land a craft softly on the moon. In Saigon, Viet Cong forces stormed and blasted a billet where U.S. soldiers were staying, killing nine people and wounding scores more.
