Free Press Head Start for April 12

Good morning.

That said, it’s only a “good” morning if you enjoy snow. Otherwise, not so much. Environment Canada says about 5 cm of snow is expected in Winnipeg. There’s some on the ground already, and the forecast calls for more snow through Tuesday morning. It’s also very windy out there. Weather warnings are in effect for other parts of the province, mostly north of Winnipeg.

The NHL trade deadline is at 2 p.m. CT. In his latest column, Mike McIntyre says “even a few little moves” by the Jets “could go a long way to helping” their chances of playoff success.
