Good morning.

An 86-year-old Winnipeg woman who began practising law in 1962 has been disbarred after she continued to take on new clients despite a promise to the Law Society of Manitoba to retire. Erik Pindera reports.

Theatre kids are rallying to convince the principal of their Winnipeg high school to approve their “dream musical” — a production based on the 2004 cult classic Mean Girls. Maggie Macintosh has the story.

More than two dozen Winnipeg Transit school charter bus routes will soon end, sparking safety concerns over children as young as 11 left to rely on the general transit system.

Winnipeg Transit offers 28 different school charter routes, which can each involve multiple buses, that are set to end when a new primary transit network overhauls routes on June 29.

That means the charters won’t run during the next school year. Joyanne Pursaga has the story.

On April 10, 1958: The Winnipeg Free Press reported that a $10-million housing project for Manitoba seniors was being studied by a non-profit financial group of Winnipeg businessmen. Manitoba’s attorney general said the government was standing firm despite protests over its decision to locate a home for delinquent girls in the old Veterans’ home on Academy Road.
