Wasn’t that a party?: After 22 years, Jets fans finally have a playoff win to celebrate. The Jets beat the Minnesota Wild last night for the franchise’s first post-season victory after being swept in two previous series. First funeral: The first funeral for the 16 victims of last week’s Humboldt Broncos bus crash is taking place today, with a service for radio broadcaster Tyler Bieber at the team’s home arena. The death toll from the crash increased after athletic therapist Dayna Brons died yesterday. READ MORE

New name: The Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Studies will be officially renamed today in honour of William G. (Billy) Barker, Canada’s most-decorated war hero. Some of Barker’s family members will be at the ceremony.

Trump tweets: U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted early this morning an attack on Syria could be launched “very soon or not so soon at all.” In a tweet Wednesday, he had warned Russia, which supports the Syrian government, to “get ready” after a suspected chemical weapons attack last weekend. Trudeau trip: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will depart for Peru late this morning, his first stop on a foreign tour that includes two international summits. In the first event, the 8th Summit of the Americas, leaders from more than 30 Western Hemisphere countries are meeting. READ MORE
