On April 17, 1930: The Manitoba Free Press reported that one man was killed and two injured in an automobile accident at the corner of St. Cross Street and Cathedral Avenue in Winnipeg. The federal minister of railways and canals, speaking in Winnipeg, said that work in connection railway line to Churchill and development of the port there had been proceeded with as expeditiously as possible.
