Good morning.

Russian President Vladimir Putin tried to claim victory in Mariupol even as he ordered his troops not to storm the final pocket of Ukrainian resistance in the flattened port city.

The U.S. Justice Department is filing an appeal seeking to overturn a federal judge’s order that voided the mask mandate on planes and trains.

The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Toronto Raptors to take a 3-0 lead in their NBA playoff series after officials missed a glaringly obvious foul against the visiting team’s coach in the closing seconds of overtime. The foul was so apparent, it left fans pondering why they bother watching sports. (Rant over.)

Métis meet with Pope: The Manitoba Métis Federation will hold a news conference in St. Peter’s Square after meeting with Pope Francis earlier today.
