On April 3, 2017: The Winnipeg Free Press reported that the flooding situation remained tense in rural Manitoba, particularly on Peguis First Nation, where more than 80 homes had to be evacuated; flooding was caused by ice jams on the Fisher River. At the Juno Awards, Canadian artists paid tribute to the passing of music legends Leonard Cohen and Gord Downie. In Winnipeg, West Broadway was booming, with three new mixed-use buildings being built on Maryland Street expected to bring more retail business and residential space to the area.
