On April 30, 1928: The Manitoba Free Press reported that two young people were killed in auto accidents in the Winnipeg area, an 18-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy. Winnipeg pioneer Duncan Lloyd McIntyre, prominent in newspaper circles in the West for many years, died at the age of 70. The first men to fly the north Atlantic from east to west were planning to attempt a round-trip journey across the ocean. READ MORE
