Sometimes, it takes so long to book an accessible ride Mitch Krohn hangs up the phone and travels in his wheelchair instead.
Krohn says he waited one hour, 50 minutes to book an accessible Winnipeg Transit Plus ride last week.
On many other occasions, he opted to hang up without a booking and rely on his power wheelchair to travel downtown from his home near Polo Park. Joyanne Pursaga reports.

On Aug. 3, 1951: The Winnipeg Free Press reported prime minister Louis St. Laurent landed at the Gimli airport to address Ukrainian-Canadians at a 60th anniversary celebration marking their first settlement on the Prairies. A bullet-riddled homemade aircraft carrying four Polish people landed safely in southern Sweden after escaping the Communist country. An 18-year-old high school student from Maryland was issued a government cheque for US$508,666.26 after requesting a tax refund for US$21.88 — the student was later told it was “all a mistake” and a cheque-writing machine operator likely punched in a serial number instead of the correct amount.
