Closing arguments in Amsel trial: Final arguments are scheduled to begin in the trial of Guido Amsel, who is on trial for allegedly sending bombs through the mail, including one that seriously injured his ex-wife’s lawyer. Reporter Katie May will be there.
Marijuana meeting: Winnipeg MP Dan Vandal and Bill Blair, parliamentary secretary to the ministers of justice and health, are hosting a public consultation on the regulation of legalized marijuana. It’s happening at 5:30 p.m. at Canad Inns Polo Park.
Rally for reserve: A rally in support of Shoal Lake 40 First Nation, which was cut off in 1917 to build the City of Winnipeg’s aqueduct, is happening at 12:30 p.m. at the legislature. The first stretch of an all-weather road reconnecting the reserve to the mainland is complete, and the rally is being held “to ensure the off-reserve part of the project will happen.”

It’s expected funds for the construction of the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s $65-million Inuit Art Centre will be included in the announcement. Reporter Nick Martin will be there.
