Alliance’s anniversary: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau remains in London, where NATO leaders have gathered to mark the military alliance’s 70th birthday. Secretary-general Jens Stoltenberg said Canada is a key part of the alliance. “In an unpredictable world, we need strong multilateral institutions like NATO, and Canada is helping us to strengthen NATO,” he told The Canadian Press. Experts on impeachment: In Washington, four legal scholars will appear before the House of Representatives’ judiciary committee to weigh in on whether the president has committed impeachable offences. One, called by the Republicans, will argue Democrats have a “slipshod impeachment” case, while the other three will argue for impeachment, opening remarks obtained by The Associated Press state.
