Tension in capital: In Ottawa, Mayor Jim Watson set a deadline of noon today for truck protesters occupying the capital’s core to move out of residential areas. One of the protest organizers tweeted late on Sunday night that the trucks would be leaving residential areas today. The Canadian Press reports. READ MORE
Border point cleared: Police forces in Windsor, Ont., have arrested two dozen anti-mandate protesters and removed five vehicles from the site of a demonstration at the Ambassador Bridge border crossing that had blockaded traffic for nearly a week. Windsor police said roads would be reopened, but did not provide a timeline for when that would happen. The Canadian Press reports. READ MORE

On Feb. 14, 1928: The Manitoba Free Press reported that aviator Charles Lindbergh landed in St. Louis, flying non-stop from Havana, completing a 10,000-mile Latin American goodwill tour that took 10 months. Thoroughbred sire Will Somers, a horse bred by King George V, had been secured by the Whittier Park stock farm in Manitoba. Saskatchewan planned to undertake the development of electric power.
