Draft document: The Free Press has obtained a draft of the document provincial ministers deliberated on at a meeting in Ottawa last week aimed at reforming Child and Family Services. On Feb. 2, 1923: The Manitoba Free Press reported that firefighters’ work was made more dangerous in battling a blaze at an Edmonton hardware store by exploding ammunition ignited during the fire; Somerville’s hardware store on 101st street suffered a loss estimated at $100,000. In Manitoba, the government had not yet decided on any policy regarding the provincial hydro system. News concerning the success or failure of a Canadian trade mission to Australia was expected with the Canadian delegation’s arrival in London, en route to Canada. READ MORE
