‘Emergency’ vote: A vote to overturn Trump’s declaration of a national emergency to build a wall at the U.S.-Mexico border is expected to pass in the House of Representatives today. If the measure also passes the Senate, Trump has said he would veto it. READ MORE

On Feb. 26, 1993: The Winnipeg Free Press reported that the price war in Alberta between grocery store chains Safeway and Superstore spread to Winnipeg, with the latter slashing some prices to levels that were “too good to be true.” The Winnipeg Jets emphasized the role of new players to guide the franchise’s future, including Keith Tchachuk, Teemu Selanne and Teppo Numminen. The Mulroney government clawed back $139 million in transfer overpayments to Manitoba.
