Touchdown in Trenton: Canadians will spend two weeks in quarantine at a military base in Trenton, Ont., after a flight from Wuhan, where the virus originated, landed today. The federal government, which chartered the flight, said 34 of the plane’s 176 passengers are minors. READ MORE

On Feb. 7, 1947: The Winnipeg Free Press reported that a second winter storm within a week had paralyzed western Canada and Manitoba; supplies of coal and food were running low in many districts, highways were blocked and snowplows had broken down, while in Winnipeg, deliverymen of the post office, stores and bread and milk companies struggled to make deliveries.
