Free Press Head Start for Feb. 9

Good morning!

A plan to get unlicensed, internationally educated nurses working under supervision in Manitoba’s health-care system is underway, but hasn’t launched yet. Katie May reports.

Willow Press and its bookstore moved from South Osborne to a location closer to Confusion Corner last summer, and the store’s emphasis on books featuring diverse people and subjects is part of its attraction. “I want you to walk in and see (underrepresented people) represented,” says Meghan Malcolm, the shop’s owner. Gabrielle Piché has the story.
