Korea conference: Foreign ministers will gather in Vancouver today for a summit on tensions with North Korea. Canada has faced criticism for not inviting Russia and China to the meeting between ministers from countries that supported the United Nations force in the Korean War. Flag bearer revealed: A ceremony is happening in the House of Commons at 10:30 a.m. to announce Team Canada’s flag bearer for the opening ceremony at the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will take part in the ceremony. Hockey player Hayley Wickenheiser had the honour at the last Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

Contracts contravened?: The city appears to have paid United Firefighters of Winnipeg president Alex Forrest nearly $1.2 million in salary between 1997 and 2013 despite language in collective agreements stating union-related leaves of absence will be without pay. A spokesman for the city said it was working on a statement about the apparent contradiction. Ryan Thorpe reports. READ MORE
