Cities shuttered: China has shut down three cities with a total population of more than 18 million in an effort to contain a new viral illness that has sickened more than 500 people and killed 17. After delaying their decision until today, the World Health Organization is expected to announce whether the outbreak should be declared a global health crisis. The Associated Press reports.
