Bombers lose 33-30: After two weather delays totaling almost three hours Thursday, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers fell 33-30 to the Edmonton Eskimos in front of rain-soaked fans at Investors Group Field. All that jazz: The hub of fun this evening will be The Cube in Old Market Square during the Winnipeg Jazz Festival event called Horns Up! Recording Churchill’s hardships: The Winnipeg debut of the film Know I’m Here begins at 6:30 p.m. today at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. The film features the northern Manitoba town and its ongoing hardships, brightened by the work of artists who bring a message of resolve and of hope to the community. Churchill Mayor Mike Spence will take part in a panel discussion following the screening.

On June 15, 1994: The Winnipeg Free Press reported that roughly 20,000 singers would take part in an upcoming March For Jesus through Winnipeg. Private recycling firms in the city made next to nothing on the materials they recycled. The New York Rangers won the Stanley Cup for the first time since 1940, beating the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 in Game 7.
