Hall of same: A rabbi who noticed most of the busts in the Citizens Hall of Fame at Assiniboine Park are of white men says inductees should be representative of the entire community. A spokesman for the Winnipeg Realtors Association, which started the hall of fame in 1986, says the WRA is open to changing the process for nominating and selecting members. Eva Wasney reports. On June 23, 1924: The Manitoba Free Press reported that details on what had unfolded in the disastrous Mount Everest expedition headed by George Mallory and Andrew Irvine were thin; Mallory and Irvine were thought likely to be have died after a blizzard hit their party; such weather was said to be common during the only month in which Everest could be scaled. In the United States, a severe storm hit the middle west states, causing $500,000 worth of damage and killing three people in Chicago. The British government looked at ways to increase inter-Imperial trade.
