On June 26, 1981: The Winnipeg Free Press reported that a stationary engineer living on a farm near Camp Morton told a provincial commission he was frustrated to have to keep renewing his professional licence when no companies would hire him, due to his age, 67. An inquest heard that a teenager who was fatally injured by a homemade rocket was not taken to hospital for at least 20 minutes because of difficulties locating an ambulance. Manitoba doctors ratified an agreement that gave them an overall increase of 15. 5 per cent in fees. READ MORE
