Cleared after complaint: Manitoba’s top judges say they will press on with a proposal to speed up the justice system by eliminating preliminary hearings now that they have been cleared of any wrongdoing in reports set to be released today. An anonymous complaint to the Canadian Judicial Council accused them of improper conduct by formulating the plan, in conjunction with the provincial government, without any consultation with stakeholders.
