Pope Francis arrived in Iraq earlier today. He is seeking to rally the Muslim-majority nation’s dwindling Christian community with the first papal visit there.

Pandemic rules relaxed: New public health orders allowing more kinds of businesses to reopen and others to expand their capacity took effect at 12:01 a.m. With video lottery terminals open for play, Assiniboia Downs is among the businesses reopening today. Manitobans can now designate one other household unit to visit their abode, or continue to allow two designated visitors. Outdoor gatherings are limited to 10 people. READ MORE

On March 5, 2012: The Winnipeg Free Press reported that an elderly couple who were pulled over by police for allegedly using a cellphone while driving were planning to fight the ticket, seeing as how neither of them owned nor used a cellphone. Other Winnipeg drivers were attempting to fight back against tickets issued through a photo radar installation at the corner of Grant Avenue and Nathaniel Street.
