Free Press Head Start for March 7

Good morning.

Russia announced another ceasefire and humanitarian corridors to allow civilians to flee Ukraine, but it was not immediately clear if anyone was leaving the war-torn country. The evacuation routes mostly lead to the invading country and its ally Belarus. Efforts to set up safe passages for civilians over the weekend fell apart. Representatives of Moscow and Kyiv planned to meet for talks again today.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in England today to discuss Russia’s invasion of Ukraine with his British and Dutch counterparts.

Another large rally in support of Ukraine was held at the Manitoba legislative grounds on Sunday.

Many local businesses and organizations are busy raising funds for Ukraine.
