Probe a year old: U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted this morning about the anniversary of former FBI director Robert Mueller being appointed as special counsel to investigate possible co-ordination between Russia and his 2016 campaign. “Congratulations America, we are now into the second year of the greatest witch hunt in American history,” Trump wrote.

On May 17, 1982: The Winnipeg Free Press reported that a Canadian Forces private resented the fact he was not permitted leave from where he was stationed in Alberta in time to attend the birth of his first child in Winnipeg. Great Britain was set to invade the Falkland Islands to retake them from Argentina.
