Premier, PM to meet: Premier Brian Pallister is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Ottawa about the stalled hydro line to Minnesota. Meanwhile, the federal government has commissioned a former Supreme Court judge to advise on the project.

On May 29, 1899: The Manitoba Free Pres reported that Great Britain stood up for Canada’s rights in negotiations with the U.S. over the Alaska boundary question. A ship lost in Lake Ontario 18 years previously, the Sealand, was found. In Iowa, eight people were killed in a train wreck due to a recent cloudburst having weakened the foundations of the track the train was travelling on.
