Saving summit: American and North Korean officials are meeting today in New York to try to salvage a summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Camp comes down: A tent community on the grounds of All Saints’ Anglican Church was taken down yesterday, as homeless campers were asked to leave so the area can be cleaned up for a wedding. Rev. On May 31, 1993: The Winnipeg Free Press reported that the Christmas Cheer Board of Greater Winnipeg planned to use some of its surplus money to fund a pilot school breakfast program in the inner city. More than half of $21.5-million raised to build a downtown hotel was disbursed to the Lakeview Group of Companies as overhead and profit, according to an audit. The federal and Manitoba governments were studying a $50-million city proposal that would employ up to 2,000 welfare recipients on construction projects to renew deteriorating infrastructure.
