Open for business: The Manitoba government will ease some restrictions today, with some health services — including dental, chiropractic and physiotherapy offices — reopening. Restaurants can open patios and provide indoor walk-up service. City playgrounds will reopen, but ones located on school property will not. READ MORE

Meanwhile, a McLelland and Lobb Aviators plane crashed near Saskatoon, Sask., killing the aircraft’s mechanic and seriously wounding Lieut. Harry Lobb. In Oklahoma, a tornado completely destroyed the town of Peggis; the twister killed 50 people and injured 100.
