On Nov. 5, 1931: The Manitoba Free Press reported that eight people were injured in a highway collision between a truck and a car near St. Norbert. An RCMP officer who went undercover to infiltrate the Communist party in Regina, Sask. and research its activities, seemed to his unwitting comrades the “reddest of the Reds” before his disguise was penetrated in 1928; he testified to his experience in a Toronto court.
