Heightened restrictions on horizon: The provincial government will introduce broad new pandemic restrictions for Winnipeg by early next week and might announce them as early as today. Manitoba and Winnipeg have had record high case counts of COVID-19 for three consecutive days. Manitoba has the highest rate of active cases in Canada and is more than double the national rate.
