Committee vote could trigger election: A vote on a Conservative motion to create a special anti-corruption committee could trigger a federal election in the midst of a second wave of COVID-19. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Tuesday the vote will be a test of confidence in his minority Liberal government. Ceremony in support of fishers: A drum song and prayer in support of Mi’kmaq fishers in Nova Scotia is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. outside the RCMP headquarters on Portage Avenue. Indigenous leaders will later speak at a news conference outside the legislature. A planned march has been cancelled because of COVID-19 concerns, and organizers are asking the public not to attend.
Obama to stump for Biden: In his first in-person campaign event for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, former U.S. president Barack Obama will speak at a drive-in rally in Philadelphia. President Donald Trump will hold a rally in North Carolina this evening, while Biden is preparing for Thursday night’s debate. READ MORE
