On Oct. 22, 1993: The Winnipeg Free Press reported that according to a new poll, the federal Liberals, led by Jean Chrétien, were poised to form a majority government in the upcoming election, with the Bloc Québécois likely to form the Official Opposition. The Reform Party was expected to win the third most seats in Parliament. The Progressive Conservatives, led by Kim Campbell, slipped in support from 22 per cent to 17 per cent of decided voters.
