Long wait for World Series: The Washington Nationals host the Houston Astros in Game 3 of the World Series at 7 p.m. tonight. It’s the first World Series game in the capital since 1933, when the Washington Senators — now the Minnesota Twins — lost the Fall Classic to the New York Giants. Soviet leaders said they did not want and would not fight a general war, unless they or the West blundered into it, according to intelligence reports from inside Russia.
