Commuter challenge: Details of the annual commuter challenge will be outlined at noon today at Red River College, Paterson GlobalFoods Institute, Bijou Park. The annual event is a national celebration of healthy and sustainable transportation taking place during the first week of June. Close to 8,000 Manitobans participate every year by taking the bus, carpooling, walking or cycling to work. Winnipeg has won the past 12 out of 13 years as the top performing city in Canada.

Races start today: The first-ever Slingshot Racing Cup debuts at Gimli Motorsport Park at 3 p.m. today. The unique three-wheeled Slingshot will be driven by Manitoba-born race driver David Richert, who raced through the streets of Monte Carlo at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix weekend.
