Funds for family: Abbey Gail Amisola, the Winnipegger who died in Cambodia this week along with a British travelling companion, had recently earned her education degree and set off in September for a trip through Asia. “She was just a really good person,” long-time friend Samantha Gilkes said Wednesday. “Her goal was to experience the world and see what it had to offer.” An online effort to raise funds for Amisola’s family has raised nearly $5,000 more than its $20,000 goal.
