Parents accused: A preliminary hearing into a second-degree murder charge against Vanessa Bushie took place in a makeshift courtroom at Peguis First Nation on Monday. She is accused of killing her daughter, 21-month-old Kierra Elecktra Star Williams. Bushie’s former partner, Daniel Williams, was a spectator in the court room. He faces a manslaughter charge in the tot’s death. READ MORE

Towing firm sued: A local auto dealer is suing a towing firm after a luxury car it leased to a client was auctioned off. Lawyers for Kobi’s Auto Ltd. argued the dealership was not informed in advance of the sale of the 2004 BMW 750Li by Tartan Towing, as required by provincial law.
