Your forecast: The geese that have returned to Manitoba unseasonably early may regret the timing of their return flight when they experience today’s weather. Wind from the west at 50 km/h will gust to 70, which, as geese know, takes the enjoyment out of flying. About two centimetres of snow is expected, with a high of -11 C. The rest of the week is expected to be sunny and cold.

Traffic ticket tempest: A precedent-setting decision that saw a Winnipeg woman’s photo-radar speeding ticket tossed out of court because of a lengthy delay has now been reversed by a higher-court judge. That’s significant because the initial court decision was used as a legal basis for other drivers who argued their speeding tickets should be thrown out because they had to wait too long to get to trial.
