Former French president dead: Jacques Chirac, the former French president who opposed the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, has died at age 86. He served two terms, from 1995 to 2007, and acknowledged France’s role in the Holocaust. The Associated Press reports. READ MORE
Court’s hearings continue: The Supreme Court of Canada, sitting outside Ottawa for the first time, will hear another case in Winnipeg today, about language education rights for French speakers in British Columbia.
