Some horoscope advice for my pet-loving birthday girl

Happy Monday!

It’s my daughter’s birthday today.

And as the years go by it gets increasingly difficult to wrap my head around the fact that my baby girl is growing up.

At 29 (gasp!), my lovely Scorpio is a runner, a musician, and a longtime fan of the Zodiac constellations, those 12 star/sun signs — Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces — that are said to determine personality traits and futures.

Her birthday horoscope in today’s Winnipeg Free Press suggests that in the year ahead she might want to think about enrolling in the arts or making time for a makeover.

Now, I can’t attest to the need for more blonde highlights, but I do agree with the astrologers who also assert that my eldest daughter, a communications lead with the International Baccalaureate Global Centre in The Hague, is driven and ambitious.

They say she continues to put an amazing amount of energy into everything she does, an attribute she denies.

The horoscope, in all its wisdom, also exclaims that those around her feel her presence and it warns: “This year is a time of service for you, especially for family.”

And with a cat and a new puppy at home to care for (and Instagram presences to maintain), I think she might want to heed the sage astronomical advice to take care of herself so she can “be a resource!”

Wise words from the astronomers, who warned me and all other Aries in today’s newspaper that I’ll see ways to improve my job, my health or — I am not kidding — how I care for my pet.

Happy birthday, Becca! Have a great week!
