The latest scoop from the Free Press
Plus: Can I ask you a question?

Hey students,

What do you want to know about the news — either how it’s produced, or what’s covered?

A few weeks ago, we were on campus chatting with many of you about your free subscription to the Free Press. While some students told us they were super keen on being able to read locally-produced journalism for free, others questioned the benefit or the purpose of news in society.

If you are just getting into the habit of staying informed, learning about your community, and keeping up on happenings in the city — reading the Free Press is a great place to start. But, you may still have questions about how stories come together, or what makes an opinion column different from a news article.

Good news: we have the answers!

In an effort to demystify the journalism process, we’ve created Free Press 101, which will help you understand why we do what we do, and how we do it.

Now, let’s get back to the Scoop, to keep you in the loop.
