Good evening. Here’s a look at what our newsroom is working on today:
Premier Heather Stefanson says the province will bring in experts, if necessary, as part of a review to ensure safety at the intersection of Highway 5 and the Trans-Canada, where 15 seniors were killed in a crash last week. For now, officials are letting the police investigation unfold. Reporter Chris Kitching reports on what was said at today’s press conference and talks to first responders who were at the scene.
A 17-year-old is in a coma after he was stabbed by a group of teens while protecting his family after a concert let out downtown Saturday night. Erik Pindera talked to the boy’s father about what happened.
And: voters headed to the polls today in four federal byelections, including two in Manitoba: Winnipeg South Centre and Portage-Lisgar. In Manitoba, polls close at 8:30 p.m. tonight; after that, watch our website for updates on the results.
