The Wrap: Doctor convicted, fatal police shooting, Jets attendance and an eggnog taste test

Good evening. Here’s a look at what our newsroom has been working on today:

'The harm he has caused these women is reprehensible'

Arcel Bissonnette, 64, has been found guilty of sexually assaulting five women between 2001 and 2017 during medical examinations at the Ste. Anne Hospital and Seine Medical Centre.

Bissonnette’s conduct with all five women “was sexual in nature and without (their) consent,” King’s Bench Justice Sadie Bond said during a brief hearing to deliver her ruling Tuesday afternoon.

'I saw lights from the police car ... and I heard screaming'

The IIU is investigating a fatal shooting Tuesday by a Winnipeg Police officer in Fort Richmond.

Winnipeg police said officers tried to conduct a traffic stop near Pembina Highway and Dalhousie Drive at about 12:40 a.m.

The occupants of the stopped vehicle tried to flee, resulting in one officer being pinned with the vehicle. Another officer shot at the male driver before he was pulled from the truck and given first aid, according to police.

The 39-year-old man was taken to the Health Sciences Centre in critical condition, where he died, the IIU said. The officer who was pinned was injured and taken to hospital in stable condition.

'We want to make sure this is a tough building to play in'

If you build it, will they come? It’s a question the Winnipeg Jets organization is asking itself these days.

On the ice, the Jets are exciting and entertaining, currently hanging with some of the NHL’s heavyweights through the first quarter of the 2023-24 regular season.

But off the ice, the team is struggling at the box office.

Hockey writer Mike McIntyre looks at what’s at play when it comes to attendance.

'Serve it to your enemies'

With December on the horizon and (some) snow on the ground, it’s time for another seasonal beverage taste test. This time around, store-bought nog — both egg-full and egg-free versions — is the focus.

Eva Wasney and Jen Zoratti let you know which brands offer the full-fat experience and which ones taste more like seasonal depression.
