The Wrap: Doctors’ administrative burden, Highway 75, and Nick Taylor’s Winnipeg origins

Good evening. Here’s a look at what our newsroom has been working on today:

Manitoba doctors say private insurers and the organization in charge of provincial healthcare delivery are creating unnecessary administrative burdens that eat up time they could be spending with patients.

Motorists who use Highway 75 are pleased work is underway on a $61-million reconstruction, but many have tempered expectations about whether conditions on the dangerous stretch will improve over the long term.

Nick Taylor is the talk of the sports world after the pro golfer sunk an incredible 72-foot eagle putt to win the Canadian Open Sunday, becoming the first homegrown talent to do so since 1954. But his rather improbable story actually began 35 years ago in Winnipeg, where he was born. Mike McIntyre chats with Taylor’s proud father.
