'It’s all about the south'

Premier Heather Stefanson asked Lt.-Gov. Anita Neville to dissolve Manitoba’s legislative assembly and the writs were issued for Manitoba’s 43rd general election. Manitobans vote Oct. 3.

This election hinges on party performance in five seats in southern Winnipeg, writes columnist Tom Brodbeck; the NDP will have to win most of them to form the next Manitoba minority government.
