The Wrap: Fourth day of Israel/Hamas war, offical voting results delayed, new bakery in Linden Ridge and Jets for life

Good evening. Here’s what’s making news today:

'I haven’t had to run for my life before'

Israeli warplanes hammered the Gaza Strip neighborhood by neighborhood on Tuesday, reducing buildings to rubble. The war has claimed at least 1,900 lives on both sides, including Canadians Ben Mizrachi of Vancouver and former Montreal resident Alexandre Look.

Israel has said that Hamas and other militant groups in Gaza are holding about 150 soldiers and civilians hostage.

Winnipeg Jewish Theatre artistic director Dan Petrenko was in Tel Aviv, planning to meet with local theatre groups in the metropolis but had to change plans suddenly on the weekend. Petrenko and actor Seth Zosky, who is set to appear in the upcoming WJT season, caught the last flight out before the airspace was closed. Petrenko spoke with reporter Ben Waldman.
