The Wrap: Officers injured, violent home invasion and interest rate hike
|
|
Good evening. Here’s a look at today’s headlines:
A 25-year-old suspect who was arrested after two Winnipeg police officers were seriously injured in a crash with a stolen pickup truck Wednesday was on bail with driving restrictions, according to a source and court records.
Wasagaming RCMP have arrested a man accused in a random home invasion in Erickson early Tuesday morning in which a woman was targeted in a violent attack that left her with up to ten stab wounds, her throat slashed and the tip of a knife embedded in her skull.
And the Bank of Canada again raised its key interest rate today. It now sits at 4.75 per cent, the highest in 22 years — and experts are predicting another hike in July.
