The Wrap: Landfill search protests, election roundup and some great pix of pets

Good evening. Here’s a look at what our newsroom has been working on today:

'Recognize the imprint you are leaving on not only us, but the children'

Families, supporters and organizations including Amnesty International Canada marked today as an International Day of Action to Search the Landfills, in an effort to pressure governments to do more to find two First Nations women whose remains are believed to be in Winnipeg-area landfills.

In Ottawa, families met with Crown-Indigenous Relations Minister Gary Anandasangaree but were disappointed when he did not pledge that the federal government would help.

Meanwhile, hundreds gathered outside the legislative building in Winnipeg to share their pain, anger and solidarity.
